Global Warming Essay : Causes, Effects and Solutions

Global warming is the phenomenon of increasing the average temperature. It profoundly affects the change in a climate near the Earth's surf

All living things- birds, animals, trees, insects, and plants, are created by nature. They all have the right to live their lives freely, but the human being is the enemy of all living beings. To fulfill our own needs and greed, we humans are killing nature, and we will pay the price in the form of disaster. one of them is global warming
Global warming is affecting the climatic conditions of Earth. In this essay we will discuss the causes, effects, and solutions to treat global warming.

What is Global warming?

Global warming is the phenomenon of increasing the average temperature since 1950. It profoundly affects the change in a climate near the Earth's surface.
Natural events and humans mainly cause global warming. But greenhouse gases are one of the significant reasons. As per the scientist, almost 95 per cent of global warming has been caused due to greenhouse gases.
The greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide(CO2), methane, nitrous oxide, etc., absorb and release heat radiation. As greenhouse gases increase in the atmosphere, it starts absorbing & releasing more heat from the Sun.

What are the Causes of Global Warming?

In this essay, students will be able to understand the significant causes of global warming.

  • Industrialization

Industrialization is one of the primary causes of global warming. The temperature of earth is increasing rapidly from the past few decades after industrial development.  Harmful gases emitted from factories are causing global warming.
Industrial have been using fossil fuels for power machines. Everything that we use is involved in fossil fuel. For example, when we buy a mobile phone, making mobile phones have involved machines, and machines use fossil fuels, and carbon dioxide is releasing into the atmosphere during the process. Besides industrial, transportation such as cars, trucks are also releasing carbon dioxide, which increases the average temperature of the Earth.

  • Burning of fossil fuels

Burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil, etc., release a large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
The number of vehicles is increasing every passing year with the increasing population of the world. The use of vehicles results in the emission of a massive amount of harmful gases like carbon dioxide in the air, which causes air pollution and global warming.

  • Deforestation

Trees play an essential role in maintaining proper balance in the climatic conditions of the environment. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen for us. The increasing level of carbon dioxide(CO2) in the air plays a vital role in increasing the temperature of our planet.
Due to excess cutting of trees, the level of CO2 is increasing a lot in the atmosphere. As a result,  imbalance is created in the ecosystem causing global warming.

  • Ozone layer depletion

Depletion of ozone layer is a severe problem for the environment. The ozone layer plays an essential role in protecting us from the ultraviolet rays of the Sun.
The ozone layer acts as a protective shield between the Sun and Earth's surface. Still, this protective layer is depleting day by day with Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) released in the environment.
The major causes of CFC emission are the use of  refrigerators and air conditioners . The CFC emission is affecting the atmospheric ozone layer and hence causing an increase in the average temperature.

What are the Effects of Global warming?

The greenhouse gases (GHG's) will stay in the atmosphere for many years since hundreds of years ago. However, the effect that global warming will cause on Earth is severe. Many effects will happen in the future, such as polar ice caps melting, economic consequences, Rising sea level, disturbing biodiversity, climate change etc., now; we will understand every effect of global warming in detail.

  • Increase in Earth's temperature

One of the significant effects of global warming is the increase in the temperature of the Earth. As per the studies, since 1880, Earth's temperature has been increased up to 1.4 degrees.

  • Melting of glaciers

Increases in the temperature of Earth are causing the melting of glaciers. As the temperature increase, the ice of the North Pole will melt. Once the ice melt, the first effect will be rising sea levels because the melting glaciers become oceans. Melting ice has also become an enormous problem for the penguins in Antarctica.

  • Causes climate change

Global warming has changed the climatic conditions of the world. Climate change is affecting the weather conditions at high level. The change in the past took a long time to happen, but the rate of change at present is relatively fast, and as a result of these changes, the Earth is getting warmer, which is a further cause of drought and floods at different places.

  • Disturbs the biodiversity

Because of global warming, many animals have to suffer from loss of natural habitat, and many species of plants and animals have been extinct. Some species are endangered because of the temperature rise. In short, It has affected the complete biodiversity of Earth.

  • sudden change in weather

We know that global warming and climate change are both interlinked to each other. Climate changes lead to the occurrence of extreme weather events in different parts worldwide. The summers are becoming hotter than before, and winters are becoming colder due to global warming.
Rainfall & snowfall has been increased over the past few years. Because of heavy rain, the chances of flood increase a lot. However, some regions experience extreme drought conditions. These type of extreme weather events disturbs the entire ecosystem.

What are the Solutions to control Global Warming?

Global warming is a serious environmental issue we all must take immediate measures to control as soon as possible. It has become a substantial threat human-made disaster for the earth. Here we are giving some simple steps to control global warming at your level.

  • Stop cutting trees

Everyone knows trees play a vital role in our environment. Plants act as natural cleaners because they absorb carbon dioxide from the air and give us oxygen to breathe.

Trees are essential for our survival. Hence, we should protest against deforestation and aware of the people for afforestation & reforestation to control global warming. Trees help to improve the temperature on earth.

  • Eco-friendly products

We should use Eco-friendly products to contribute to the planet's crisis. for example- use cotton or cloth shopping bag instead of single-use plastic bags.

  •  sustainable transportation

As we know, carbon dioxide is one of the major causes of global warming, So we should cut down the amount of carbon emission.

We should prefer public transport, carpooling, etc. for travelling. Using carpooling is a simple and effective way to control global warming.

  • Minimize the use of fossil fuels

To prevent global warming, we should minimize the use of fossil fuels such as coal or gas. Instead of fossil fuels, we should start using electricity from natural renewable resources such as solar and wind.

  • Use Energy efficiency products

We must take some essential steps to save energy. Minor changes will have a significant impact and will help us to fight against global warming.

For instance- we should use LED bulbs instead of traditional bulbs that consume a lot of energy because it saves cost and environment both.

  • Adopt recycling

Recycling helps to minimize wastes from the environment. It will also help to reduce the effects of global warming.

For instance, after finishing drinking the water from the bottle, we can reuse it for other purposes.

Conclusion

To conclude, we understood that our earth is "sick". We humans need to "heal" the earth. We are facing many significant environmental issues, and one of them is global warming. We ownself have raised the level of pollution to extreme levels. All the organisms (including plants and animals) have to pay a lot. But now it is the time to act and make everyone aware. Start small but make it big by including everyone to protect our planet.
